The Mercantile was born in 2013, and is a cultural association that promotes young craftsmen and designers of the Etruscan coast; it is a design market inspired mainly by north-European markets such as Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane in London. After three years of activity, the Mercantile Market has become a reality known nationally, playing an important role in the Italian handmade world. It received many positive reviews even from Official Institutions.

The city of Etruscan coast celebrates new year’s eve right on the promenade: the Mascagni Terrace will set up a large stage where local bands and musicians, accompanied by a large firework show. You are in Livorno and you won’t suffer the cold thanks to its unique climate. For your children we recommend you the central square Piazza della Repubblica and its Christmas village, with shows, funfair, food stalls, and a wonderful antique carousel. Do not miss the district called La Venezia, the true heart of Livorno, built on a system of canals, narrow streets and ancient buildings. Here you will find many pubs, clubs and typical restaurants. We close by recalling the unique tradition of new year’s Eve in the city: the dip in the sea of 1 January! The appointment is at the Rotonda of Ardenza on the morning of the first day of the year for a collective bath in the sea. The body get stronger with cold water !!!!
